Hey all, just thought I’d list a couple of upcoming events and artists you can look forward to seeing in the next couple of months :). Looks like fun times ahead.
[March] Future Music Festival – Above and Beyond are hosting there own self named stage at FMF this year presented by Anjunabeats. Matt Zo, Super 8 & Tab, Jaytech will also be joining them and despite the recent Sydney weather I’m sure it’s gonna be a great day.
[April] ASOT 450 – WoW! Armin Van Buuren will be presenting his 450th A State of Trance Episode show at the start of April over 5 days. The line up is massive and there is too many to list so check out www.asot450.com. Last year live streams and guest mixes were played online over a 72 hour period and it was a weekend of awesome.
[April 17th] Liberate – A trance event presented by Onside Entertainment, which appears to be at Manning Bar a venue in the middle of University of Sydney o.O will see the likes of Eddie Halliwell, Matt Hardwick, Solarstone and Signum. Tickets are only $45 at the moment, so don’t miss out.
[May] Creamfields – OM NOM NOM FERRY CORSTEN! Other acts include Ferry Corsten, Ferry Corsten and System F ;p. But seriously other acts include Marco V and duo Filo & Perry. Strangely though it’s going to be at Horden Pavilion and surrounding areas which doesn’t really look like a field to me =/.
[June] We Love Sounds – Last year we were gifted with a 5hour set from Armin van Buuren. This year we see the likes of Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery and Roger Shah return to the winter festival and they are sure to turn up the heat.
Kaleidoscope is actually awesome…when it’s live.
I’m not one to easily admit when i’m wrong about something, being the stubborn mule that I am. In terms of Kaleidoscope, I might have jumped the gun. See this post for my quick and dirty review of Tiesto’s latest Album Kaleidoscope where I basically trash and write it off completely.
I went and saw the man himself play the Kaleidoscope tour in Sydney and it was the best rave experience I have had to date. The man knows how to put on a show. Never have I experienced such an awesome atmosphere combined, the most amazing productions and excellent track selection. Tracks that I absolutely detest on Kaleidoscope (Louder Than Boom) were AMAZING live. The crowd was loving every minute of it and so was I. The only downside is that Tiesto has a poor reputation for his mixing and track sequencing and it was very apparent on the night. Tracks did not transition properly and it really was the only thing I could pick on. That and the fact that Tiesto does NOT allow you to have bottle caps on your water bottles (I believe he has been pegged with bottle caps too many times in the past).
Go see Tiesto if you ever have the chance. Kaleidoscope isn’t something to be listening to at home, it has to be experienced live.
Dash Berlin – Never Cry Again (Jorn van Deynhoven Remix)
Never Cry Again is my favourite track off of Dash Berlin’s debut album, The New Daylight. I absolutely adore the passionate vocals. Jorn van Deynhoven delivers exactly what the original song needed, increasing the tempo, adding melodic trance drives and mastering the build up/break down element that all good trance songs have. Definitely one of the best new trance tunes going around.
