Lyrics:
What’s the way to live
What’s the way to love
Why do we fight so much
We can make it better for all of us
Tell me why this world is not enough

‘Cause the world never stops spinning round and round
We can never slow it down
All we need is just a little more love
Just a little more love

’cause love will, love will make it right
It’s the key tonight
Just share a little love inside, inside inside

When Ferry Corsten teams up with Betsie Larken, awesomeness happens. Not Coming Down is a track that we instantly fell in love with when Ferry Corsten dropped it during Stereosonic 2011. It was bloody awesome to hear it live, for the first time, and just perfectly understand every word and feel every beat. Magical. Yes, our hardon for Ferry Corsten is showing and we don’t care who knows it.

Video will come when there is a decent quality one :). In the meantime

Lyrics:
Floating through the sky again
Will I ever find my way?
Maybe that’s the point of it
Learning that the road don’t end
To look around
Enjoy the sound
And take the beauty in

On this flight
On this high
I don’t care what the world will say
‘Cause I’m not coming down
‘Cause I’m sure that the world
That I see in my mind is changed
And I’m not coming down today

Maybe there are no mistakes
Only what we have to face
So you don’t have to feel regret
Join in for the ride instead

We’re floating now
Above the ground
Hope this will never end

* Region 1 Contest Winner Announced; ‘Asia + Australia EP’ Released, Including ‘Loose Unit’ Collab With tyDi & Richard’s Own ‘Chopstick’.
* Region 2 Contest (Europe & Russia) Now Open!
* Enter The Richard Durand Vs. The World Competition And You Could Be Co-Producing On His New Album!
* This Year You’ll Believe An Album Can Fly!

Fledgling Indian outfit the Progressive Brothers have become the first artists to become co-producers on the extraordinary boundary breaking ‘Richard Durand Vs. The World’ album project. Created from the track stems Richard placed online back in November, their track ‘Veda’ won out in the fiercely contested Australia/Asia quarter of the competition. With DJ Mag saying: “Durand excels with the first of his ‘Vs. The World’ EPs”, his solo track for the EP ‘Chopstick’ is a seismic club-shocker that you’ll be hearing plenty of in his sets over the coming month! Mixmag meanwhile described the EP’s tyDi collab, entitled ‘Loose Unit’ as “working in some great robust riffs and warping, avant-garde piano lines”. Richard Durand’s ‘Australia/Asia’ is out to buy now and available through all good download stores, (the full tracklist is below).

The second regional round of the Richard Durand vs. The World contest has now opened… The action now moves onto Europe and Russia, so producers, singers and songwriters inside the region – you’re up! Head to Richard’s Facebook Fanpage, click ‘Download’ on the App and grab the base track. Where you choose to take it from there is all up to you! Speed, style, atmosphere or angle – the choice is all yours. Apply your riffs, melodies, FX, top-lines, mainlines, bass, percussion – hey, do what you gotta do to make it pop! You can network with other likeminds online to create it – you produce/they sing, vice versa, or whichever dynamic works for you! Once your is complete (you have until the 20th of February to finish it), head back to the Fanpage click ‘Upload’… and put that opus into contention!

So, what’s in it for you studio-heads?

Beside fame and everlasting glory, you mean!? Well, if you win you’ll receive a writing share of the tracks and 50% of the artists’ royalties (which will vary depending on how many co-producers there are). You will have co-produced a track with Richard Durand – one of the most sought after EDM artists out there – and become a featured artist on his new album. Additionally you’ll have had the kudos of having taken part in a ground-breaking, high-profile release and one that might just put YOU squarely on electronic dance music’s map for the first time! Richard Durand Feat. Your Name Here - just imagine it…

The When And Where:

In Vs. The World, every region gets its turn! The global timetable has started. After the current round closes it’ll be North America’s turn. First dates on the timetable are as follows:

Richard Durand Vs. The World Australia/Asia EP – Out Now

01: Richard Durand ‘Chopstick’
02: Richard Durand & tyDi ‘Loose Unit’
03: Richard Durand & The Progressive Brothers ‘Veda’

Richard Durand Vs. Europe & Russia: 23/01/12 submission deadline: 20/02/12
Richard Durand vs. Europe & Russia released: March 19th, 2012

Richard Durand Vs. North America: 19/03/12 submission deadline: 16/04/12
Richard Durand vs. North America released: May 14th, 2012

This is co-production on a never before attempted (and quite literally global) scale, people! A year-long mission to create a totally unique album that joins all the continents and all four corners of the globe. This is Richard Durand… VS. THE WORLD!

During the last weeks of 2011, via a dedicated video-cast, Markus Schulz revealed that the setting for his 2012 City compilation would be the sprawling electronic dancetropolis of Los Angeles.
On making the announcement, Markus said:

“Electronic dance music has blown up huge in the United States this past 12 months. One of the main reasons driving that is the scene in Los Angeles, where a new generation of clubbers are uniting with long-term fans and creating one of the most passionate scenes anywhere on the globe. I’ve played there many times in my career, at the Monster Massive festivals, the Electric Daisy Carnivals and 3 years New Years Eves at Together As One, and they’ve all been so memorable in their own way!”

Following the broadcast Markus began his musical mission to embody the dance-heart of one of the biggest cities on the planet and build a mix testament to it.
As is now the City series’ custom path, ‘LA ’12’ discs are opened by Markus himself, who infuses each mix with an atmospherically charged overture. Under his San Andreas Soundlab alias, ‘Hollywood Boulevard’ teleports the listener straight down into the early evening thrive of the iconic Tinsel-town sidewalk. As the sun starts to set, the rush of the passing traffic melts into long expectant synth sweeps, which, beat-free, beautifully capture the palpable anticipatory buzz of a long LA night ahead.

Danilo Ercole and Wellenrausch soundtrack this day-to-night transformation with their newest studio wares, ‘A Man With Two Names’ and ‘Million Miles To Run’. Pushing ‘LA’12’ further down this potent, progressive freeway, the swirling strains of Nifra ‘Dark Harbour’ and the epically spacious ‘Hyperfocus’ from Mark Otten intoxicate the mix and ratchet its tension. As the tougher sounds begin to filter their way in with ever-greater frequency, so the clubbers pulse quickens. The auditory punch of Beat Service’s ‘Fortuna’ produces a knockout moment, as does the unrestricted uprush of Styller’s striking ‘Quantum Mechanics’. Pushing Mix #1’s mercury conclusively through the roof is the rolling thunder of ‘Bolandish’ – Markus’ latest atom-splitter.

For just a moment disc 2 drops the drums out with the evocative, echoic 911 wail of ‘Avalon’. Markus’ tribute to the famed Hollywood club, the track plants you right outside its front door. One final glance back up at Capitol Records, etched against LA’s night-black cityscape, and the whooping rush of Arnej’s ‘We Unite’ sucks you into Avalon. From there ‘LA’12’ wholeheartedly and vociferously seizes control of your arms and feet. Through the concussive beats, shock-waving synths and digital discordance of tracks like, Elevation vs. Grube & Hovsepian ‘City of Angels’, KhoMha’s ‘Artemis’, Aaron Camz ‘Aqwa’ and Mr Pit’s purpose built outro mix of ‘River of Hearts’, it delivers LA’s pitch-perfect audio expo.

If you’ve not clubbed the city before, this compilation will all-but secure the credentials for you. Capturing the pumped fission and pure passion that put Angelenos’ feet on the floor all-year-round, it makes a compelling a case for the city’s accession to nu electronic dance capital.

Markus Schulz – Los Angeles ’12 is out on February 17th 2012. The download version is available to pre-order through iTunes and the CD can be pre-ordered from the Armada Music online store.
